The National Committee of the VI World Forum on Local Economic Development is advancing in preparations for the celebration of the WFLED
NewsThe third meeting of the National Committee to advance preparations for the sixth edition of the VI World Forum on Local Economic Development (WFLED) took place on Tuesday, October 14.
The meeting was attended by Francisco Toajas, Provincial Deputy of the Provincial Council of Seville and President of the Committee on Local Economic Development of UCLG; José Luis García, Councillor of the City Council of Seville; Manuel Redaño and Emilio Rabasco, Manager and Director of FAMSI respectively; Elena Fernández, Deputy Director General of Planning and Policy Coherence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; Raquel Gallego, General Coordinator of External Action of the Regional Government of Andalusia; María Sánchez, General Coordinator of Preferential Attention Neighbourhoods and Social Rights, and Xavier Mestres, Technical Coordinator of the World Forum on Local Economic Development.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the VI World Forum on Local Economic Development should not only be a space for the exchange of ideas and good practices, but a transformative platform that leaves a transformative legacy in the city and the country, as well as being a reference in promoting concrete advances in economic development policies and strategies, with a focus on inclusion, sustainability and equity.
Additionally, the strategic participation of the Forum in upcoming international events such as the World Urban Forum to be held in Cairo, Egypt, next November was also presented, as a space to establish bilateral relations and consolidate alliances between the countries that will participate in the Seville Forum, thus strengthening international cooperation ties.
The 6th World Forum on Local Economic Development represents a crucial platform for exchanging ideas, practices and strategies that promote more inclusive and sustainable economic development at a global level, strengthening collaboration between governments, organizations and local communities.
