The Government Subdelegation in Seville and FAMSI meet to coordinate the organization and security of the VI World Forum on Local Economic Development
NewsOn November 11, a planning and coordination meeting took place in Seville between Francisco Toscano Rodero, deputy of the government in Seville, Francisco Toajas, deputy of the Public Employee Area of the Provincial Council of Seville, and Manuel Redaño, manager of FAMSI. The meeting addressed the issues of organization and security of the VI World Forum on Local Economic Development, which will be held in the Andalusian capital between April 1 and 4, 2025.
The VI World Forum on Local Economic Development is organized as an international space for dialogue and cooperation, promoted by FAMSI through an International Committee that brings together prominent entities, such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Labor Organization (ILO), United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), ORU-Fogar and the World Forum on City Development (FMDV). This event has the support of multiple international actors and seeks to promote alliances that promote local economic development in different contexts around the world.
The Forum is aimed at political and technical representatives of national, regional and local governments, as well as key actors in local development, multilateral agencies, civil society organizations and NGOs specializing in cooperation. Knowledge management entities, companies, private sector organizations, and representatives of the social and solidarity economy, as well as experts in key issues of economic and social development, will also participate.
During the meeting, Redaño and Toscano Rodero shared measures to ensure that the event is carried out with the maximum guarantees of security and organizational efficiency, taking into account the broad participation expected and the global scope of the issues that will be addressed at the forum.
The VI World Forum on Local Economic Development represents an opportunity to strengthen development strategies from the local to the global level, and Seville is expected to be an international benchmark in the promotion of a more just, inclusive and sustainable economy.
