III World Forum on Local Economic Development

The 3rd Global Forum took place immediately after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by world leaders in New York in September 2015 and in conjunction with the final phase of the “Expo Milan 2015 – Feeding the planet, energy for life” The forum offered a timely opportunity to explore experiences and practices capable of enhancing the importance of LED as a means to realize the development agenda at the local level.

The forum brought together more than 2,000 participants from 130 countries. For four days, they discussed how LED can contribute to achieving more inclusive, equitable and environmentally sustainable development outcomes, through dialogue and direct participation of local stakeholders, the promotion of decent work, horizontal policy coherence and verticals and integrated planning frameworks.
