The 3rd World Forum was held immediately after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by world leaders in New York in September 2015 and in conjunction with the final phase of the world “Expo Milano 2015 – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” The forum offered a timely opportunity to explore experiences and practices capable of enhancing the importance of LED as a means to realize the development agenda at the local level.

The forum gathered more than 2.000 participants from 130 countries. Over four days, they debated on how LED can contribute to achieve more inclusive, equitable and environmentally sustainable development outcomes, through dialogue and direct engagement of local stakeholders, promotion of decent work, horizontal and vertical policy coherence and integrated planning frameworks.
