Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity (FAMSI)
The Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity, FAMSI, is the entity that articulates, promotes and coordinates the work of Andalusian local governments, social and academic entities and the social and solidarity economy, in a network of local and global cooperation and action.
Around 200 entities are integrated into a network created in 2000 for international cooperation, the exchange of good practices, the generation of knowledge, and the connection with multilateral networks; The objective is to promote, from the public interest and with a territorial approach, the objectives of social, environmental and economic sustainability included in the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda.
From the experience of the territory, the FAMSI favors models of multicultural, egalitarian and democratic coexistence based on reducing the impact on the planet. The local space allows innovation and the search for adapted and realistic responses to the successive global changes that move to the streets of municipalities and cities. For this reason, people are at the center of all FAMSI initiatives, with a global perspective and proximity action.
